Biography
George was born in 1945, grew up in post war America, spent the sixties in high school and college earning a BA in Fine Art and an MA in Product / Graphic Design from Purdue University. He began painting seriously over fifty years ago and has been writing for over forty years. Since 1970 he has been a working designer for a wide variety of clients. He taught graphic design, typography and design history at Columbia College Chicago for 22 years before retiring in 2009. When the Mac computer arrived he began designing typefaces and formed his own digital foundry, No Bodoni Typography in the 1990s. He is an avid fan of sprint car racing, Formula 1, Indycar. Le Mans series and Grand Am series auto racing.
